Who is Dr. Greg Nacarelli?
Dr. Gregory Nacarelli developed a passion for natural medicine at a young age. During high school, his interest in fitness nutrition led him to pursue a job at a local holistic health store, Gary’s World of Wellness. In his spare time, he researched various supplements and nutritional interventions to increase his performance on the basketball court. He then went to Cabrini College to pursue his Bachelor of Science in Pre-Med. It was during this time his father was diagnosed with a rare genetic form of colon cancer. This led Dr. Nacarelli to pursue research in molecular genetics at Lehigh University, where he received his master’s in molecular biology.
After graduating with his master’s degree, Dr. Nacarelli performed vaccine analytical development research for Merck. During this time, Dr. Nacarelli rekindled his love of natural medicine by healing long-standing health issues using natural medicine modalities. His interest in wanting to heal others as he had been healed by natural medicine led him to pursue a Naturopathic Doctoral degree at Bastyr University. During this time, Dr. Nacarelli became curious about the interplay between natural medicine and genomics.
Wanting to learn more about genomic medicine, he pursued a master’s degree in individualized genomics and health at Johns Hopkins University and a PhD in healthcare genetics and genomics through Clemson University. He conducted research during this time, studying the impact of genetic variation on the association of fatty acids and cardiovascular disease, resulting in several publications.
Dr. Nacarelli currently works for SelfDecode as a precision health practitioner and performs integrative metabolomic consulting for Theriome. He also performs consulting for individuals and practitioners interested in integrative and genomic medicine.
Dr. Nacarelli believes the current Westernized approach to medicine requires a much-needed update by further embracing traditional medicine, while incorporating modern-day diagnostic and biometric technologies for more precise health recommendations. By combining Naturopathic medicine with multiomic technologies in his approach to health optimization, Dr. Nacarelli is practicing at the forefront of personalized and precision medicine.
